Medallists from the biggest competitions from around the world and World and Olympic champions are going to take part in another edition of ORLEN Copernicus Cup on 8.02.2023.
Yet again, huge stars of world's athletics will come to Toruń, where Armand Duplantis beat the record in pole vault event. Among them, head characters of the Queen of Sports.

– Athletes from around the world know, that there is an outstanding atmosphere in Toruń and spectators, who in large numbers sit in the stands, can appreciate an exquisite sportsmanship – the director of ORLEN Copernicus Cup Toruń and the president of Kujawsko-Pomorski Związek Lekkiej Atletyki Krzysztof Wolsztyński says.
In fact, among confirmed athletes, who will show up in Arena Toruń, there are a lot of outstanding names. For instance, in 800-metre women race, silver medallist from Tokyo British Keely Hodgkinson will compete with the third contestant of World Championships in Eugene Mary Moraa from Kenya and the fourth in this competition Diribe Welteji from Ethiopia. In men long jump event, these contestants will take part in: Olympic Champion from Tokyo Miltiadis Tentoglou from Greece, the third from Japan's capital city Maykel Massó from Cuba and bronze medallist of the last Indoor World Championships in Belgrade Marquis Dendy from America. 

– In 60-metre hurdle race, our European Champion in Munich Pia Skrzyszowska will fight with silver medallist of the Old Continent Luka Kozak from Hungary and silver medallist of World Championships Britany Anderson from Jamaica. The pole vault event looks promising as well. There, our Piotr Lisek will fight with Olympic Champion from Rio de Janeiro and bronze medallist from Tokyo Thiago Braz from Brasil or bronze medallist of World Championships in Eugene Ernest Obiena from Philipines – Wolsztyński adds.

Spectators in Toruń will be able to see 12 events in total – women will run in 60, 400, 800 and 3000-metre races and in 60-metre hurdle race. Men however will compete in seven events – races in 400, 800 and 1500 metres, 60-metre hurdle race and high jump, long jump and pole vault.

Meeting in Toruń has its brand for many years, and we have supported its organization since the firsts editions.
ORLEN Copernicus Cup is one out of seven the most important competitions classified as World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold.
