Poland has become the champion of European Athletic Team Championships in Bydgoszcz! Our team scored 345 points and had beaten team from Germany (317,5) and France (316,5)
Polish competitiors got their gold medals to the accompaniment of people shouting "thank you" from the stands. The whole stadium sang "Mazurek Dąbrowskiego" which was followed by another standing applause and an honorable round. In that way Polish contestants thanked spectators for three days of amaizing cheering, which turned out to be very helpful. Polanik was the National Supplier and the Partner of this Championships. According to our motto "we help to win" we support such events in many ways. We were present in Bydgoszcz with the display of our products - thank you for so many visits :) Success in Bydgoszcz is historical due to the fact that for Polish queen of sport it is the first time since 2009, when team championships has started, when Poland won. On Friday, Hosts thanks to 3rd. place of Javelin Thrower Marcin Krukowski and 4th. place of Discus Thrower Daria Zabawski, where second in general standings. Saturday brought more triumphs: Shot Putter Michał Haratyk (1st. place), Hammer Thrower Wojciech Nowicki (1st. place), Patryk Dobek (400m), Justyna Święty-Ersetic (400m) and Maricin Lewandowski (1500 m run) Last day of the championships was also productive in terms of 1st. places- Adam Kszczot (800m run), Sofia Ennaoui (1500m run). Piotr Lisek (Pole Vault), Piotr Małachowski(Discus Throw) were no match to the competiton. Ladies: Iga Baumgart-Witan, Anna Kiełbasińska, Małgorzata Hołub-Kowalik and Justyna Święty-Ersetic were in the lead from start to finish. They won with and incredible advantage and their time 3:24.81 is the best in this season on european track. Poland was the best in 10 competitions and scored 345 points.
