Medallists from the biggest events from around the world with World Champions and Olympic Champions took part in another edition of ORLEN Copernicus Cup meeting on 8.02.2023.
Yet again, huge stars of world's athletics came to Toruń, where Armand Duplantis beat the record in pole vault event. Among them, head characters of the Queen of Sports.

Pia Skrzyszowska (AZS AWF Warszawa) came closer again to 43-year old Polish record in 60-metre hurdle race – she score 7.79 which is only 0.02 slower than Zofia Bielczyk's score.

European Champion from Munich scored safe 7.91 in eliminations and got promoted to the finals with confidence. There, she had an event fight with Reetta Hurske from Finland. Polish athlete was 0.02 seconds faster than Scandinavian contestant – she scored 7.79 and put herself on the second place in Polish historical tables. Skrzyszowska, being amibtious enough to beat the country's record, set her new personal best and put her name on the tops of European tables. 

In the hurdle distance among men Jakub Szymańśki was the best Polish athlete and he took third place. During this season he ran below 7.60 again and scored 7.58. Daniel Roberts from USA won the event (7.46).

Ewa Swoboda was the second in 60-metre race. She got 7.11 and only lost with Mujinga Kambundji from Switzerland (7.06). 

Kajetan Duszyński in 400-metre race took the fourth place but with his tome of 46.70 he set his new personal best. Carl Bengtström won – 46.15. Another fourth place was taken in the race of twice the distance by Mateusz Borkowski – 1:47.27, but the medallist of the previous edition of Indoor European Championships still remains without reaching the minimum score. Similar to colleagues from Polish representation, Michał Rozmys took the fourth place in 1500-metre race set in Arena Toruń (3:36.54).

Kinga Gacka finished women 400-metre race in the fourth place (53.09). Among women in medium distance races, Margarita Koczanowa was very close to fullfiling the minimum in 800-metre race. She also set her new personal best with the score of 2:02.36. Angelika Sarna – 2:02.74 was a bit slower. The sixth place was taken by Martyna Galant with the time of 8:54.43.

In technical events, Norbert Kobielski took the third place with the score of 2.24 in high jump. A very challenging event of pole vault was closed by Piotr Lisek in the sixth place. He got the best result this season – 5.72. In long jump, Miltiadis Tentoglou set the new Polish record for all-comers – 8.40 – and the best athlete in Polish group was Gabriel Dziełakowski who jumped at the high of 7.39.
