On Kościuszko Square in Białystok, on 21st of May, Sunday, athletes fought in shot put, high jump and pole vault events during fifth edition of Stars Meeting.
With the score of 5.81, Piotr Lisek filled out the bare minimum for World Championships in August.
Full equipment needed for all events - similar to four previous editions - was developed by our company.
On a sunny and warm afternoon, in an athletics arena filled to the brim with spectators, Lisek scored 5.41 and 5.56 in his first trials. Later, in his second attempt he beat the crossbar hung at 5.71. At that time, he had 5 opponents in the event. All of them refused to jump 5.76 and competed with the height of 5.81. These athletes managed to beat that height: Austin Miller from the USA and Piotr Lisek who was able to enjoy the result of achieving the minimum for World Championships in Budapest while being applauded warmly. Later, our representative was close to getting 5.86. Lisek won the pole vault event in the end.
Michał Haratyk turned out to be the best shot putter. In the second trial he scored 20.92 and won by beating Roman Kokoszka from Ukraine.
The women shot put event was dominated by Jessica Inchude from Portugal. 18.65 turned out to by triumphant. Zuzanna Maślana took fourth place. In the second to last trial she scored 16.50 and became the leader of European lists in U20 category.
Polish representatives took third place (Wiktoria Miąso – 1.80) and fifth (Mateusz Kołodziejski – 2.14).
