Piotr Lisek with a score of 5.82 m won the fourth edition of the pole vault competition "Lisek at home" It took place on Friday 31st of May in Duszniki. - This season the "Lisek at Home" competition was qualified for the prestigious World Athletics Continental Tour series at the bronze level, and this means, of course, a very high organizational and sport level. I am proud of it that in small town of Duszniki we can do such great things - said Piotr Lisek before the competition.
For the purposes of the competition, our company built a special arena for pole vault competitions.
Twelve titled pole vaulters took part in the competition. The games were quickly finished by Anthony Ammirati (France), Michał Gawenda (Poland), Matt Ludwig (USA), Bartosz Marciniewicz (Poland) and Ethan Cormont (France). Ammirati and Gavenda failed to overcome the bar, while Ludwig, Marciniewicz and Cormont beat the bar at 5.22m but failed at 5.42m. Paweł Wojciechowski (Poland), Illya Kravchenko (Ukraine) and Gillian Ladwig (Germany) finished the competition with a score of 5.42 m, and Austin Miller (USA) with a score of 5.52 m. Polish pole vaulter, Robert Sobera jumped the bar set at the height of 5.62 m and secured third place on the podium. Frenchman Renaud Lavillenie, Olympic champion and vice champion and five-time World Cup medallist, jumped 10cm higher. Lavillenie tried to overcome the height of 5.82 m three times, but failed. However, he secured second place on the podium with a score of 5.72 m. The event kept everyone in suspense until the very end, and the jumpers provided the audience with amazing emotions.
Piotr Lisek, who won every Duszniki meeting, did not disappoint numerous fans this time as well. In the first attempts he scored 5.42 m, 5.62 m and 5.72 m. Later, on the second attempt, he beat 5.82 m, which secured another victory for him. Having been confident about the podium, he attacked the bar at 5.92m, but failed. However, the audience cheered him until the end of the competition, for which Piotr thanked everyone after the competition.
