From 7 to 10 July 2025, we cheered athletes during the European Athletics U20 Championships in Tampere, Finland.
Let's recall that the first championship competition for juniors - called the European Junior Games - were organized in 1964 in Warsaw thanks to the initiative of a group of Polish athletics activists.
Since 1970, they have entered the European Athletics Federation championship calendar as the European Athletics Junior Championships and are held in a two-year cycle. The last U20 championships were held in Jerusalem.
The competition took place at the stadium in Tampere, which previously hosted the European Athletics U20 and U23 Championships and the U20 World Championships in athletics.
Thanks to cooperation with our exclusive distributor on the Finnish market, IKL Sport OY, we equipped the facility with equipment to carry out the competition with javelin, discus and hammer throw, shot put, running competitions, long jump and triple jump as well as high jump and pole vault. As in the case of European Athletics U23 Championships in Espoo in 2023.
The organizers provided athletes and fans with an unforgettable athletics event. On August 6, the opening ceremony was held, during which, after the official part, Finnish musicians executed their performances. During the next 4 days, athletics enthusiasts could get excited about the competition of young athletes at the Retina stadium.
The Polish national team won eight medals: 1 gold, 1 silver and 5 bronze
