European Athletics Team Championships with Polanik
We invite you to Madrid for the European Athletics Team Championships (I Division).
The main part of the event takes place on 27-29th of June at the Estadio de Vallehermoso - a new facility for nine thousand seats, with a characteristic green tartan surface. The
day before that - 26th of June, as a part of the warm-up, there will be a pole vault event at the Plaza de Oriente - a square in front of the Royal Palace.
The European Athletics Team Championships are one of the most interesting athletics competitions. The idea behind this format is simple: each country puts one player into competition, and he scores points for the place taken. The sum of points from each competition will determine the final ranking. There will be 16 teams at the start in the Spanish capital.
The current champions - Italians - will defend the title won in Chorzów in 2023, when they overtook Poland and Germany on the podium.
Spain hosts the European Athletics Team Championships for the first time. The competition takes place in a two-year cycle and is a continuation of the European Cup. Events in this formula have already been hosted in Spain - in 1996 in Madrid and in 2006 in Malaga.
