
The host of the 11th European Team Championships was Madrid, and it was there that the 16 best European athletics teams competed on 26-29.06.2025. Polanik, as the Official Supplier of European Athletics, was also present at the Estadio de Vallehermoso.
On Thursday, June 26, a pole vault competition was held - in a charming location in Plaza de Oriente - in the square in front of the Royal Palace.
The main part of the event took place on 27-29 June at the Vallehermoso Stadium - a new facility with nine thousand seats, with a characteristic green synthetic surface.
The White-reds won the European team vice-championship in the hot Madrid, repeating the success from two years ago. The Italians became champions, the Germans placed third. And thus the podium looked identical to that in 2023 in Chorzów.
The teams were divided into three divisions. The first team included the 16 strongest teams from the Old Continent: Poland, Czechia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Ukraine.
The players competed for points. For the victory in their competition they received 16 points, for the second - 15, for the third - 14, etc. The team with the highest number of points in 18 men's events, 18 women's and the mixed 4x400 m relay, which finished the championship on Sunday evening. It was the one who sealed the White-red's silver medal.

Out of 37 competitions in the event, Poles stood on the podium 12 times. Individually, from a group of 46 Poles, Anita Włodarczyk managed to win 16 points for her victory and the 4 x 400 m relay.
The three-time Olympic champion won the competition by sending the Gold Hammer at a distance of 73.34 m.
Maksymilian Szwed, Justyna Święty-Ersetic, Daniel Sołtysiak and Natalia Bukowiecka ran for the mixed relay victory. 3:09.43 is the record of the European Team Championship, the Polish record and the best result in the world this year.
Five times, the White-reds stood on the second place on the podium: Piotr Lisek in pole vault, Natalia Bukowiecka in the 400 m race, Ewa Swoboda in the 100 m, Maria Andrejczyk in the javelin throw and Maria Żodzik in the high jump.
Spain hosted the European Team Championships for the first time. The competition takes place in a two-year cycle and is a continuation of the European Cup. Events in the "cup" formula have already been hosted in Spain - in 1996 also in Madrid and in 2006 in Malaga.
