On Saturday, May 18, 2024, Janusz Kusociński's Memorial was held at the Silesian Stadium. In Chorzów for the seventh time, with the equipment Polanik for the fourteenth time in a row:)
The 400-metre race was a certain win by Natalia Kaczmarek with a time of 50.42, at the finish line more than a second ahead of the most dangerous foreign rival, the British Nielsen.
Filip Rak presented himself impressively in the 1500-metre race. He clocked 3:33.74 and, improving the Polish record in under the age of 23 category, he completed the minimum for the European Championships in Rome.
Oliver Wdovic triumphed in the 100-metre sprint with a time of 10.23. This is an equal tenth result in Polish historical tables and a good prognosis before the next starts, also relays.
The best in the high jump competition was Maria Żodzik. In the second attempt, she scored 1.90 and unsuccessfully attacked 1.92. A lot of excitement was brought by the rivalry of the pole runners. The Greek Karalis and the Pole Sobera scored 5.72 in solidarity and, giving up their right to overtime, they enjoyed winning together.
In the 110-metre race through the hurdles, Damian Czykier won with a time of 13.56, and the third was Jakub Szymański.
From the good side, the javelin thrower Maria Andrejczyk presented herself - in the furthest throw she scored 62.20 and lost only to the representative of Latvia Sietina.
The second in women shot put was Klaudia Kardasz, who filled the minimum at the Silesian Stadium for the European Championships in Rome on 18.05. Polish shot put throwers did well too. Konrad Bukowiecki put 20.44 and scored valuable points in the Olympic ranking. The third was Michał Haratyk from 20.26, and the competition was won by the British Scott Lincoln (20.75).
Paweł Fajdek failed to break Ethan Katzberg's winning streak at the Silesian Stadium. Polish thrower had one measured sample at 77.23, and the Canadian scored 79.12 in the farthest score. Among the women, the Polish hammer throw champion, Anita Włodarczyk, had to recognize the superiority of her rivals today. The world record holder threw 71.16 and finished third.
