Sport rivarly at Aleja Gwiazd in Międzyzdroje - Golden Sand Meeting

On 17th of August 2025, Międzyzdroje became the summer capital of athletics. During this year's Golden Sand, which for the first time was included in the prestigious World Athletics Continental Tour Silver series, Konrad Bukowiecki, Piotr Lisek and Nikola Horowska won victories in their events. Fans witnessed not only sports emotions at the highest level, but also a moving ceremony of unveiling a monument to the icon of Polish sport - Irena Szewińska.

The third edition of the international athletics meeting Golden Sand Międzyzdroje could not have taken place without our equipment, which we delivered, assembled and comprehensively prepared, thanks to which the Avenue of Stars could become an arena of three events:
⇒ Irena Szewińska the women's jump
⇒ Tadeusz Ślusarski the men's pole vault
⇒ Władysław Komar the men's shot put

- Sportingly, it was a historic edition of Golden Sand. For the first time, we had a professional Władysław Komar's shot put event, and the whole meeting was included in the prestigious World Athletics Continental Tour Silver. This means that our competition today is not only a beautiful summer attraction, but also an important point of the world athletics calendar. And the fact that the leading roles during the competition were played by the white and red makes the joy doubled - said Bogusław Mamiński, director of the Golden Sand meeting.

In the long jump event, Nikola Horowska was the best, who already in the first attempt gave the furthest jump of the evening - 6.56 m. The second place was taken by the Japanese Sumire Hata (6.38), and the podium was completed by the Swede Tilde Johansson with a score of 6.33 m.

Konrad Bukowiecki was unrivalled in the shot put event. After a failed performance the day before at the Silesia Memorial Kamila Skolimowska (19.32 m), he was reborn in Międzyzdroje, achieving his best score in three years at the stadium - 21.33 m. Szymon Mazur, second, also performed well today, achieving the best result in the season (19.75 m). The podium was completed by Mohammed Daoud B TOLU from Saudi Arabia (19.40 m).

The pole vaulters' competition, which is traditionally an ornament of the competition in Międzyzdroje, provided fans with many emotions. The first three pole vaulters achieved the same result - 5.72 m, but thanks to the smallest number of jumps, Piotr Lisek won, American Olen Tray Oates was second and young Norwegian Simen Guttormsen third. Robert Sobera took seventh place in the competition (5.37 m).

Traditionally, a demonstration competition of Stars and Friends was also held, in which athletes, actors and friends of Irena Szewińska and tragically deceased masters - Władysław Komar and Tadeusz Ślusarski - competed in the shot put. Although the results were of secondary importance, there was no shortage of emotions. To equalize the odds, the results were calculated according to special calculations taking into account the age categories of the starters. The winner was the world champion in the triple jump from Helsinki (1983) Zdzisław Hoffmann, ahead of Paweł Wojciechowski - the world champion in the pole vault from Daegu (2011). Andrzej Szewiński, the national team and three-time Polish volleyball champion, the eldest son of Irena Szewińska, took third place.
